In 2015, Pope Francis wrote his letter 'Laudato Si', in which he called upon all mankind to be 'Stewards of the Earth'. Pope Francis calls upon us all to look after our planet and respect nature.
Here at St Mary and St Andrews, we are trying be as sustainable as possible.
- In Autumn term we held a Fair Trade week with sales of Fairtrade products, an assembly and lessons with the children in each class
- We now have recycling stations around school for paper, co-mingle and food waste.
- We began to develop our outdoor garden and planting areas last Summer with the help of our families and will continue this work this year
